Alexander Ortlieb, Holzwerkstätte Bernau

»Turning round – turning well!«

Wood-turning craft is one of the old handicrafts and rich in tradition: Training and skilfulness, practice and ambition, demand and creativity, applying modern technology everywhere where relieving people and dealing almost tenderly with every new piece of wood again and again – all this is where professional workmanship is characterized by.

All our products are designed and turned by Alexander Ortlieb himself. This is why all products are purely unique specimens – hand-turned bowls and vases, pepper and salt mills, candleholders and cutting boards, some seating furnitures, useful and decorative objects. Only in case of cut-to-size, varnishing and assembly work or regarding the processing of products manufactured in small series, he is assisted by a well-trained team.
The quality of our beautifully designed and functional products is confirmed by a variety of awards.

The family Ortlieb lives and works in Bernau in a high valley in the South of the Black Forest – for Alexander Ortlieb a landscape full of silence and inspiration, good for positive thinking and new ideas!
